In USA each state has their own health regulating councils to ensure the skills and knowledge of nurses, who wish to work in their state. This licensed exam is conducted to ensure public protection and to measure the competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as a newly licensed nurse.
The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), which is used by each state nursing board to assist in making licensure decisions. To NCLEX –RN nurses should have Diploma/ Bsc nursing with IELTS overall 6.5 with speaking 7 and minimum 5 month post registration experience. After successful completion of this test nurses will become qualified to apply registration and practicing license in their preferred US territory or state. The NCLEX-RN is a theory based test which consists of multiple-choice questions.
